Sunday's Photographs

While everyone in the more northern part of the U.S.A. is enjoying the fall color, here in Florida it remains green and warm. However, there are certain signs of the time of year. The goldenrod is blooming in the corner of our field. There are many insects buzzing around on it as well.

I'm unsure what this wildflower is, probably some form of marsh marigold.

The air is full of dragonflies. I walked through a cloud of Carolina Saddlebags. The name comes from the markings on the wings.

I found a pair of Monarch butterflies mating near our porch. The male looks rather worn. There seem to be a lot of Monarch caterpillars around currently, so I don't know what this one will lay eggs on. We find chrysalis hanging on every post, window, chair, and table as it is.

Hope you enjoyed these. As always, leave me a comment.

Really enjoyed the photos, Suzanne! The Goldenrod pics are beautiful--too bad it is such a nasty allergy fiend!
